Cruncher, the costing assistant built into QuickCosting

Cruncher reads your supplier invoices, decides with you where each cost belongs, builds the pools and products to hold them, and answers questions about your own numbers. Reading the document is the easy part. Knowing that the workshop electricity belongs in an overhead pool and the accounting software in G&A is the costing decision, and Cruncher makes it with you.

• Drop in a supplier invoice as a PDF or a photo and it reads the line items, the supplier and the tax off the document.
• It works out where each line belongs: a material to your catalog, the workshop electricity to an overhead pool, the accounting software to G&A.
• It builds what is missing as you talk: a supplier, a catalog entry, a cost pool, a product, a subcomponent group.
• Ask about your own numbers and it answers from what you have stored. If a figure was never fetched, it says so rather than filling the gap.
• Ask how costing itself works: what belongs in a pool, what an allocation base is for, why a physical item never lands in overhead.
• Anything you imported: converts the invoiced currency into the currency you cost in, and classifies the item to its HS heading so you can look the duty rate up against it. It classifies, it does not quote a rate.

What it will not do: it never saves without your approval, it never invents a number, and it does not give tax, financial or legal advice or set your price.
